HOUSTON (AP) - The Bush family is keeping quiet on former President George H.W. Bush's condition.
The 88-year-old former president has been hospitalized since Nov. 23, first for a bronchitis-related cough and more recently with a lingering fever.
A spokesman for the former president said Thursday that only changes in Bush's condition would prompt updates about his health.
Bush's spokesman and a hospital spokesman did not immediately respond to messages left by The Associated Press on Friday morning.
The most recent word from the former president came Thursday evening when he released a statement mourning the death of retired Gen. Norman Schwarzkopf. Schwarzkopf led the Bush-assembled international military coalition that in 1991 routed Iraqi forces who invaded Kuwait.
