Return Frenzy: Retailers offer deep post-Christmas discounts

TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - If you braved the return frenzy the day after Christmas, you were certainly not alone.
Many retailers took deep discounts to the max to lure customers to their stores on Wednesday while they're still in the shopping mood.
Sheala Paul said, "It's a great time to get a lot of shopping with cards and stuff. Good time to spend your money." Her friend, Kristi Dwelas, who usually shops for bargains on Black Friday is thinking twice about that pre-holiday tradition. "I think on black friday there were sales on bigger stuff like TVs and stuff like that. I think they push that because it's a better profit for them. But I think some smaller stuff is on sale today."
Aaron Rodriguez took his gift card into Hot Topics for a crazy deal on tees. 'Most of the T-Shirts in there are normally 20, 25 bucks. They have flat every t-shirt 10 bucks. So I was like -- score," he said.
And Erlinda Gallego scored big for her mother after taking back a jacket she bought at Dillards. "And it was too small so we came today and exchanged it. And it was almost half the price so now she's looking for a second gift."
Her savings on this gift return -- more than a hundred bucks. KGUN9 Reporter Valerie Cavazos asked Gallego what she was going to do with the extra money. "Buying something else. (Her mother) wants to get a pair of boots to match it now."
And that's what many retailers are counting on from post-holiday shoppers looking for the best bargains.
