Deputies call off rescue, family members assist hiker

TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Deputies began responding to Catalina State Park for an injured hiker, but other hikers in her group were able to assist her out of the park.
Deputy Tom Peine with the Pima County Sheriff's Department says the hiker, a woman who injured her ankle near Romero Pools, was assisted by family members. The hiker's family told Search and Rescue deputies that they didn't need further assistance.
