Cococino signs secret deal on health leader's exit

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (AP) - The Coconino County Board of Supervisors has signed a secret agreement with its public health director to resign and not discuss the reasons for her leaving or her job performance.
The county is refusing to release documents to the Arizona Daily Sun about the exit of Barbara Worgess.
Worgess's lawyer is attempting to prevent the Daily Sun from viewing the agreement she signed upon leaving Coconino County. A Superior Court judge has put a temporary hold on releasing the documents pending a full hearing next month.
Worgess joined the county in 1998 and led a department responsible for restaurant inspections, tracking and countering infectious disease outbreaks and immunizing the public until September. She is officially an employee until Jan. 4.
Worgess didn't return calls seeking comment.
