TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - One person is dead and three others are injured after a rollover collision on I-10.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety responded to I-10 and Red Rock Road after a single-vehicle rollover collision that occurred just before 3:30 p.m. Saturday, according to the DPS Duty Office.
Units from the Avra Valley Fire District and Northwest Fire District also responded to the scene to assist.
Once on scene, crews found a single SUV that had rolled over into the frontage road from the westbound lane of traffic, according to Patrick Calhoun with Avra Valley Fire District.
Calhoun tells KGUN9 that the SUV had heavy damage to the passenger compartment and during the rollover the passenger of the vehicle was ejected from the vehicle.
One man was pronounced dead on the scene and three others were injured in the accident, according to DPS.
The driver of the vehicle is stable with very minor injuries at this time, Calhoun said.
The injured passengers were transported to a local area hospital for treatment.
The roadway was shut down for several hours, but it has now been reopened. DPS will continue to investigate the cause of the rollover accident.
KGUN 9 On Your Side will have more on this as new information becomes available.
