TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Multiple shots were fired outside of the Tucson Mall during shopping hours early Friday night.

Sgt. Chris Widmer with the Tucson Police Department says witnesses saw a man shooting into a vehicle in the Tucson Mall parking lot at around 7:00 p.m. Friday.

Once police arrived on scene, the victim car was gone and witnesses said they saw a man and a woman flee from the parking lot on foot, Widmer says.

Police conducted a search and called local area hospitals to find out if anyone came in with gun shot wounds.

Widmer tells KGUN9 that the man and woman seen fleeing the scene have not been found and no victims were located. However, shell casings were discovered at the scene.

KGUN9 asked Tucson Mall Saturday if it had a message or statement for shoppers. A spokeswoman said the mall had no comment and referred KGUN9 to Tucson police. The mall also did not want to say if it increased security as a result of the incident.
