FAIRBURY, Neb. (AP) - A 30-year-old Fairbury man wanted on several sexual assault allegations has been arrested in Arizona.
Fairbury Police Chief Chad Sprunk tells Beatrice radio station KWBE-AM that Billy Barritt was arrested Thursday in Mohave County, Ariz.
Barritt is charged in a Nebraska warrant with first-degree sexual assault of a child and three counts of third-degree sexual assault of a child.
Police say Barritt sexually assaulted multiple children in Nebraska under the age of 10 for more than a year. Authorities say that when Barritt learned of the investigation, he left his home in Fairbury.
Barritt is currently on probation for being a felon in possession of a firearm.
