TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) - Authorities have positively identified a body recovered from the Salt River as an Arizona State University student missing since late last month.
The Maricopa County Medical Examiner's Office identified the body of 19-year-old Jack Culolias on Wednesday, but the cause and manner of death still are pending.
A private search group spotted a body floating in the river on Sunday near where one of Culolias' shoes was found about two weeks ago.
Culolias was last seen Nov. 30 after being kicked out of a Tempe bar during a fraternity party and Tempe police say the freshman was suspected of being drunk.
Police say the body pulled from the water was wearing a single red shoe, leading to the "strong possibility" that the body was that of Culolias.
