TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - A house fire Tuesday in Rio Rico may have started because of the family's Christmas Tree.
Officials with the Rio Rico Fire District tell KGUN9 that crews found a 3,000 square foot home on fire at about 7:15 p.m. Tuesday.
It took crews four hours to fight the fire, and afterward, the home was considered a total loss.
Damages are estimated at $250,000.
Investigators are still trying to determine the cause, but the point of origin was near the family's Christmas Tree.
The Rio Rico Fire District wants to stress safety when it comes to Christmas trees and decorations this season.
