Community Food Bank facing $400K shortfall in monetary donations

TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - The Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona is facing a $400,000 shortfall in monetary donations for the month of November.
According to Jack Parrish, this shortfall is placing the food bank at critical levels for December
and following months.
“Unfortunately, this year our donations are less than we received last year”, said Bill Carnegie, Food Bank President/CEO. “In addition to this shortfall, we are seeing an increase of 10% in the demand of food boxes. It’s a difficult situation and we hope the community can help,” Carnegie added.
For every dollar donated, the Community Food Bank can distribute nearly nine dollars worth of food.
