Deputies, volunteers find missing elderly woman
TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - A team of search and rescue crews and volunteers have found the missing woman who was reported to be mentally unstable and diabetic.
Deputy Tom Peine with the Pima County Sheriff's Department says a 71-year-old Hispanic woman went missing from her care home located at 10561 east Roger Road and she was last seen at around 7:20 p.m. Saturday.
The woman is 5-feet-2-inches-tall and weighs around 200 pounds. She has brown eyes, black and grey hair and she was last seen wearing grey pants and a grey sweater.
The search began last night and included assistance from Search and Rescue deputies, a dozen volunteers from the Southern Arizona Rescue Association, K-9 dogs from Southwest Rescue Dogs, crews from Southern Arizona Mounted Search and Rescue and the Pima County Sheriff's Department airplane, according to Peine.
There is no word on her condition yet.
