TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Construction barriers for the city's new streetcar line down 4th Avenue have been cleared and the Winter Street Fair is a "Go" this weekend. The event, which started began in 1970 attacts more than 300,000 people over it's three day run.

The 4th Avenue Winter Street Fair will be open daily from 10 in the morning until six in the evening on December 7, 8, and 9, 2012. The event features more than 400 arts and crafts booths along with 35 food vendors, music, performers and events for children and families.

4th Avenue merchants who felt their business had been hurt during the long streetcar line construction process were hopeful completion of the work and the Street Fair will pull in customers who want to see the improvements.

Downtown parking meters will be free on Saturday and Sunday. Free shuttles will provide rides from the Pennington and U of A parking garages to Downtown.
