Live grenade found alongside highway in Peoria

PHOENIX (AP) - Authorities say a roadside cleaning crew has found a live grenade along a state highway in Peoria and it's now been disarmed.
The Arizona Department of Transportation says the grenade was discovered Tuesday morning along Arizona 74.
Peoria police say Arizona 74 was closed for part of the morning from Interstate 17 to Lake Pleasant Parkway while the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office Bomb Squad worked to render the device safe.
The Arizona Republic reports that bomb squad checked the area to make sure no other devices are present.
