Royal family to get an addition

TUCSON (KG UN9-TV) - The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge had to announce a new addition to the royal family a little early. The mom to be - Duchess Kate, has a case of morning sickness so severe, she has been hospitalized, and the media is all over it.
Their first kiss as a married couple captured the world's attention, and now the promise of a new addition to the young royal family has millions waiting on every new report out of London.
Most people have all heard of the queasy feeling associated with early stages of pregnancy, but 9OYS wanted to know how common is it? Doctor Stephanie Chin of Genesis OB/GYN says one of the symptoms of severe morning sickness involves something the Duchess' followers can see - quick weight loss.
"All that pregnancy hormone makes them so nauseous and you really start to watch them as far as weight loss. They just start losing a lot of weight and its time to intervene and start hospitalizing them," said Chin.
The KGUN9 Facebook page lit up with comments about the topic as well with KGUN9 viewer Rachel George saying "It would probably help her to put on a few pounds. The few women I knew that suffered badly enough to need treatment were very, very thin."
Alexandra Saenz had a differing opinion saying, "I can't imagine it's be that serious, millions of women are pregnant everyday and they're not being hospitalized. She's just dramatic."
Finally, viewer Melinda Johnson Ketelsen said its quite serious. "God bless her - I know people who ended up in the hospital for extended periods of time, from morning sickness. It's not a "drama" thing, believe me!"
Doctor Chin agrees, it can be quite serious.
"Nobody likes being in that state and I think they would just have empathy that the poor thing gets sick too, even being a duchess doesn't protect you from that," said Chin.
