SIERRA VISTA, Ariz. (KGUN9-TV) - Robert James Schottenbauer, 23, was arrested last night for felony flight and seven counts of endangerment.

Sierra Vista Police Department's PIO, Scott Borgstadt, tells KGUN9 Schottenbauer was booked into jail at the Cochise County Sheriff's Department shortly after.

Schottenbauer was driving red Ford Mustang at high speed when an officer witnessed him fail to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of North Railroad and Canyon Drive.

The vehicle then crashed into Village Apartments at 200 North Canyon, backed out of the building and led police on a chase. Because of such high speeds, officers terminated the pursuit for safety reasons, said Borgstadt.

The driver was contacted later by the police and arrested for felony flight, hit and run, driving on a suspended license, criminal damage, reckless driving and seven counts of endangerment for the individuals located in nearby apartments where the vehicle entered the complex.
