TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - The El Nino weather prediction in Tucson isn't living up to expectations. In turn, Mt. Lemmon is experiencing above average temperatures. Area business owners say, like the weather, business is mild.

Mt. Lemmon business owners, like Carol and Phil Mack, are coming off a strong summer season. The couple has owned the General Store and Gift Shop on Mt. Lemmon for 12 years. They say business is slow, but it is expected.

"For us here on the mountain, who are full-timers, it's just the 'tween' time," Carol Mack told 9OYS.

Steven Sanders manages the Sawmill Restaurant. They opened their doors in April.

"We do not know what to expect. We hear all different reports from the different old-timers that have been up here for years. They're all saying it's going to snow this week, it's going to snow that week," Sanders said.

But business owners are keeping their cool --even though the weather is not.

"I would start to get worried come January. If we're not starting to get some nice storms of you know, a foot or two feet of snowfall, then I'm going to start to get concerned and we'll go into the preserve mode," Mack continued.
