TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - An 18-year-old was arrested for multiple robberies during the last two months, including one at a Toys-R-Us and a Denny's.
Sgt. Chris Widmer with Tucson Police tells KGUN9 that Jose Cuevas was arrested November 25 for armed robberies that took place the same day of his arrest at Toys-R-Us and the Denny's restaurant at 1510 W. Valencia Rd.
Detectives discovered that Cuevas was also involved in several other robberies in the last two months.
He robbed a Circle K and four different Food City stores, each time armed with a handgun.
During one of the Food City robberies, police say Cuevas fired a shot into the ceiling while inside the store.
He is currently in the Pima County Jail on multiple armed robbery charges, in addition to an aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charge and a kidnapping charge.
