TPD searching for vehicle, driver involved in fatal pedestrian collision

TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - TPD is investigating a fatal pedestrian collision that happened near the intersection of South Alvernon Way and 27th Street around midnight Friday.
Officers responded to a report of a male laying in the middle of the road. Upon arriving at the scene, officers saw a 31-year old male in the roadway who appeared to have been run over by a vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
In a news release, Sergeant Chris Widmer said traffic detectives are continuing their investigation.
The vehicle or driver involved is unknown at this time. Anyone with information is urged to call 911 or 88-CRIME.
