Suspicious item turns out to be old mining explosive

TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - An old mining explosive found in a home was seized by the bomb squad and disposed of after deputies were called to check out the suspicious item.
Deputy Renee Carlson with the Pima County Sheriff's Department tells KGUN9 that someone called 911 because of a suspicious item in a home in the 3000 block of West Cantaloupe Drive, near Orange Grove and River.
The bomb squad determined that it was an old mining explosive and disposed of it safely.
Carlson says no criminal charges are pending in this case.
