TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Tucson Fire Department was on the scene of an apartment fire near the 2400 block of North Treat that broke out early Thursday morning.
TFD Captain Barrett Baker said that a cooler was engulfed in flames, which extended into the attic space of the apartment.
A ladder crew arrived on scene and shut down power to the apartment building. They cut two holes in the roof to prevent the fire from spreading through the entire building.
The two residents of the adjoining apartments were allowed back into their respective apartments after approximately an hour.
There were no injuries to firefighters and the Red Cross was not needed.
The damages are estimated to be $60,000.
The cause and origin of the fire are still under investigation.
