TUCSON (KGUN-9) -- It's not just kids who look forward to getting gifts from Santa. Seniors appreciate them too -- especially those struggling to make ends meet this holiday season.

That's why the organization, Home Instead Senior Care, is once again setting up special Christmas trees at various stores around Tucson. The program helps older adults living alone and in poverty.

Holiday shoppers are asked to pick up an ornament off special Be a Santa to a Senior Christmas trees, buy items on the list and return them unwrapped to the store, along with the ornament attached.

The Home Instead Senior Care office will then enlist the volunteer help of its staff, senior-care business associates, non-profit workers and others to collect, wrap and distribute the gifts.

The Be a Santa to a Senior program runs through Dec. 17th. Christmas trees are located at K-Mart, 7055 E. Broadway Blvd.; Déco - Art for Living, 2612 E. Broadway; Rocco's Little Chicago Pizzeria, 2707 E. Broadway Blvd.; and Home Instead Senior Care, 3208 N. Tucson Blvd. will feature ornaments with the first names of the seniors and their respective gift requests.
