PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. (AP) - A Prescott Valley man is in custody for allegedly trying to rob a pharmacy store at gunpoint.
Prescott Valley police say 23-year-old Preston Tisthammer is being held in the Yavapai County Jail on suspicion of attempted armed robbery.
They say Tisthammer allegedly entered the CVS store brandishing a pistol and demanding prescription drugs about 8 a.m. Friday.
Police say the handgun was reported stolen from a car on Thursday.
The 51-year-old pharmacist refused to give Tisthammer the drugs and tried to wrestle the gun away from him.
Police say Tisthammer lost control of the gun before fleeing on foot. He was arrested a short time later in the same area as the pharmacy.
Authorities didn't immediately know Friday night if Tisthammer has a lawyer yet.
