TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - It is something else.
9 On Your Side viewer Jireh Jimenez shot video on Black Friday of dozens of determined shoppers at the new Wal-Mart off South Park Avenue. They're seen elbowing and prying their way to the stack of video players in the center.
Door-buster deals don't bring out the best in some bargain bingers. At one California K-Mart, dueling over deals turned into verbal threats.
One man threatened to stab another shopper for pushing his kids.
In Tucson, there was a bit more civility in aisle two, as one shopper said people were standing on shelves and crawling on the ground to get to merchandise, rather than pushing and shoving.
One man says he thinks things have calmed down this year.
But another woman told 9OYS Reporter Kevin Keen that she has seen people get pushy, bossy and there is a lot of fighting.
What drives the mall mayhem? Those deals. You decide if they're worth it.
One woman got a PlayStation 3 for $200, when the system is usually $300.
Another shopper found a $50 toaster oven for $20.
On the KGUN9 Facebook page, Dana writes: "Got a wonderful high-end model HP all-in-one computer, discounted $220 off."
B.J. wrote that he got a "king size sheet set at Kohl's. Normally $199.99, final receipt was just over $50."
