New photos released of Ocelot in Huachucha Mountains

TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - An ocelot that has been in the Huachuca Mountains since February, 2011 was photographed recently in a tree.
Officials with the Game and Fish Department tell KGUN9 that a sportsman took the photos, and an analysis will be conducted to verify the photos.
The Ocelot was left in the tree unharmed after the photos were taken.
Earlier this year, the ocelot was seen in trail camera photos.
Ocelots are small to medium sized spotted cats with a long tail.
They are listed as endangered under the Federal Endangered Species Act.
Because of this, the Game and Fish Department says they should be left alone.
If anyone encounters a cat they believe is an ocelot, send photos and any information to the department by calling the hotline at (800) 352-0700.
