TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - University of Arizona Police are looking for a suspect in a strong armed robbery that took place Thursday.

Sgt. Juan Alvarez with UAPD tells KGUN9 that a U of A student was walking in the 1100 block of east Helen Street when two men in a van started talking to him.

The student walked past the van and into the parking garage when he was approached by one of the men in the van.

The suspect threatened the student and demanded that he give the suspect his belongings.

The student turned over his personal property and the suspect returned to the van.

Police say the man who approached the student in the garage is described as white with short blonde hair and wearing a white t-shirt and shorts.

The driver of the van is described as an Asian male in his mid 20s with short hair, sunglasses and wearing a blue baseball hat and a blue t-shirt.

They were last seen heading south on Mountain Avenue from Helen in a white late model 15-passenger van with no windows and no distinctive markings.

UAPD says the victim was not injured and the suspect did not have a weapon.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call 911 or 88-CRIME.
