SUPERIOR, Ariz. (KGUN9-TV) - A pedestrian died Monday night after she was hit by a commerical truck while crossing the street.
The Pinal County Sheriff's Office traffic unit responded to the scene and began the fatal collision investigation. The driver of the commercial truck and trailer was 29-year-old Matthew Hydock of Eloy.
The female pedestrian was 47-year-old Elaine J Romero of Superior.
The investigation determined that Hydock was headed westbound on Highway 60 at approximately 45 miles per hour when Romero ran or walked southbound in front of him in an area without a crosswalk or intersection. Romero was struck by the truck and died instantly from massive traumatic injuries.
