Authorities evacuate apartments because of suspicious device

MARANA, Ariz. (KGUN9-TV) - The Marana Police Department and Pima County Regional Bomb Squad responded to the scene of a suspicious device on Monday morning.
Deputy Tom Peine tells KGUN9 that around 9:17 a.m., they were called the The Springs Apartments located at 7901 North Cortaro Road to assist Marana Police with what appeared to be a suspicious device.
Police evacuated some surrounding apartments while the bomb squad tried to secure the device.
The device was found to be non-hazardous in nature.
Marana Police are investigating the incident because manufacturing a bomb is considered a felony.
