I-17 closures set next week due to bridge work

CORDES JUNCTION, Ariz. (AP) - Motorists traveling on Interstate 17 in the coming week in the vicinity of Cordes Junction should be prepared for a series of nighttime closures and restrictions due to bridge work.
The Arizona Department of Transportation says there will be short closures, lane restrictions and detour nightly.
Those are scheduled to begin Sunday and continue through Thursday, weather permitting.
The work includes removing the old Cordes Lakes Road bridge and working on the new Big Bug Creek bridge.
I-17 is the principal route between the Phoenix area and northern Arizona.
