Campaigns must remove signs after elections

TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Days after the elections, campaigns are told to get their political signs off the streets.
According to a news release, Arizona Secretary of State Ken Bennett has reminded political organizations to remove signs from Arizona streets and sidewalks to store or dispose of them.
“Abandoned signs are an eyesore littering Arizona’s beautiful natural landscape,” Bennett said. “Plus, I think that most people would agree that our tax dollars could be better spent by our local governments providing important services rather than paying for clean up after a busy election cycle.”
Bennett said campaigns hold the responsibility to remove their signs after elections, much like the halt of television political ads and phone calls. Campaigns can find sign disposal locations by contacting their local government.
