TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - A 33-year-old man was arrested after burglarizing a home, and then being caught by the homeowner.

Deputy Tom Peine with the Pima County Sheriff's Department tells KGUN9 that a homeowner in the 5800 block of North Gerhart Road came home and saw an SUV parked on her property.

A man, later identified as Robert Allen Mason, came out of her backyard with a pillow case that he threw into the back of his truck.

He then jumped in the truck and took off.

The woman immediately called 911 with a description of Mason and the vehicle.

Deputies responded and saw the truck in the Sunset and Camino De Oeste area.

They tried to stop the truck, but Mason would not yield.

Deputies pursued the truck for two miles before Mason drove off-road and fled on foot.

After a short foot chase, deputies apprehended Mason and booked him into the Pima County Adult Detention Center on an existing warrant and new charges of second degree burglary, unlawful flight from law enforcement and driving on a suspended license.

Mason had the pillow case with the items that belonged to the homeowner.

The investigation is ongoing.
