TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - All who have served in the United States military can stroll into Saguaro National Park Saturday through Monday fee free.

The national park, along with 398 national parks across the nation, will offer free admission for the holiday weekend.

"We are grateful for the service and sacrifice of military members, past and present, and honored to tell their story at many of our national parks" said National Park Service Director Jonathan B. Jarvis.

Not only are the veterans getting a sweet deal, all visitors are too. National Park Service's Andy Fisher told KGUN 9 the Western National Parks Association will knock off 15 percent on all book and gift sales in both of Saguaro National Park's visitor centers.

Keep in mind that the waived entrance fees only cover the entrance and additional fees will still need to be paid where they permit.

Fisher also issued a reminder to all active duty members of the U.S. military and their families about their free America the Beautiful pass, which allows the pass owner and up to three adults to enter all National Parks for a year.

A member of the military can flash their current, valid military identification card and pick up their card between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. at either visitor center. These passes are also available for the
public.
