SAN LUIS, Ariz. (KGUN9-TV) - A Mexican national is spending some quality time with the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations for attempting to smuggle $237,000 worth of methamphetamine into the U.S on Monday.
Jose Fernando Sanchez-Rocha, 25, was passing through San Luis when Customs and Border Protection stopped his Ford sedan for further inspection.
Department of Homeland Security’s Edith Serrano told KGUN9 that a CBP dog sniffed out the more than 15 pounds of drugs hidden above the rear axle.
Sanchez-Rocha was apprehended and the drugs and vehicle were seized.
