PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. (AP) - Authorities say a Prescott Valley man is facing charges after allegedly injuring three police officers while resisting arrest.
Prescott Valley police say 57-year-old Steven Gibson has been booked into the Yavapai County Jail on suspicion of three counts of aggravated assault on a police officer and one count of resisting arrest.
Authorities say three officers were treated at a hospital for injuries that included a possible fractured wrist, knee injuries and a possible concussion and abrasions.
Officers responded Monday night to an injury traffic accident and they say Gibson was one of the drivers involved.
Police believed Gibson may have been under the influence and attempted to ask him questions to investigate possible impairment.
Officers say Gibson became angry and allegedly punched a female policewoman in the face.
