Ariz. border city of Nogales has new police chief

NOGALES, Ariz. (AP) - The Arizona border city of Nogales has a new police chief.
City officials say Derek Arnson was sworn in Monday and begins work immediately.
Arnson is bilingual and comes to Nogales with an extensive amount of experience and leadership in Arizona law enforcement.
He has served as police chief for the Gila River Indian Community and worked for the Arizona Department of Public Safety, including two years in the Governor's Protection Detail.
Arnson graduated from Northern Arizona University with a criminal justice degree.
He has a master's degree in education and is working on another master's degree in security studies.
