Winter parking restrictions begin in Flagstaff

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (AP) - Flagstaff's winter parking restrictions go into effect Thursday.
The parking ordinance is meant to allow snow plows to navigate the streets more easily when a storm hits. It requires vehicles to be off Flagstaff streets between midnight and 7 a.m. and gone by 3 a.m. in the downtown business district.
Authorities initially will issue warnings to owners of vehicles that are parked illegally. Citations may follow.
Cars also could be towed if they're in the path of plows once it starts snowing.
The parking restrictions expire on April 1.
