Woman attempts to smuggle nearly $200,000 worth of drugs

TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - A Mexican woman who attempted to smuggle nearly $200,000 worth of drugs into the United States was put into custody this week.
According to a news release, Fabiola Angulo-Lopez, 24, was apprehended at the Port of San Luis on Monday when caught with nearly 12 pounds of cocaine and almost six pounds of methamphetamine.
Customs and Border Protection officers called for another inspection of Angulo-Lopez's SUV. A narcotics detection canine led to the discovery of roughly $196,000 worth of drugs, including six packages of cocaine and three packages of methamphetamine hidden in the car speaker box.
The drugs and vehicle were processed for seizure and Angulo-Lopez was sent to Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigations.
