The U.S. Parachute Association's National Skydiving Championships began last Thursday and concludes on Saturday. Competition runs from sunrise to sunset each day.
The event is an opportunity for top competitors to earn a position on the U.S. team for the World Parachuting Championships scheduled for Nov. 28 through Dec. 9 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
Two Phoenix-area four-way formation teams - Arizona Airspeed and Arizona Arsenal - are among those competing along with the Army Golden Knights.
The competition includes formation diving, free-fall style and accuracy landing, vertical formation, canopy formation and artistic events.
