Hearing set in Prescott stockbroker's murder case

PRESCOTT, Ariz. (AP) - A judge has set a December hearing to consider arguments over whether prosecutors in the case of a Prescott stockbroker accused of killing his ex-wife had illegally viewed documents that weren't intended for them.
The Daily Courier reports that a judge had initially turned down a request by Steven DeMocker's lawyers to hold a hearing, but a higher court ruled that the judge must hear the matter.
DeMocker's re-trial on charges that he bludgeoned to death his ex-wife in 2008 has been held up, largely due to this issue, for most of 2012.
His first trial ended abruptly in late 2010 when his legal team quit, citing a conflict of interest.
Lawyers for Yavapai County say prosecutors viewed the documents for legitimate reasons.
