Armed woman killed by police in Phoenix

PHOENIX (AP) - Phoenix police say a woman has been fatally shot by police responding to a report of a gunman and a hostage situation.
KTVK-TV reports that police officers shot the woman after she walked out of the house with a firearm. It was not immediately clear what led to the shooting.
Police say there was no hostage situation in the home and that drugs or alcohol could have been a factor. No charges are expected to be filed.
