Streetcar update: Congress Street partially reopened
Web Producer: Rikki Mitchell
TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Streetcar construction has allowed Congress Street from Toole Avenue to Scott Avenue to reopen to bicyclists and motorists.
It has opened to a single westbound lane, which will allow access to businesses along that stretch of Congress.
There is still a detour route in place on Toole Avenue for motorists wanting to access the west side of downtown.
Construction crews have also completed underground utility work, installed concrete-embedded rail, paved and reopened roadways in the following areas:
- Second Street between Park Avenue
- Palm Drive between Highland and Cherry Avenues
- University Boulevard between Tyndall Avenue and Third Avenue
- Fourth Avenue from University Boulevard to Seventh Street
