TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - A 25-year-old man was arrested Wednesday after a three-month old baby was taken to the hospital with head trauma and other injuries.
Sgt. Maria Hawke with Tucson Police tells KGUN9 that Tanner Brown was caring for a three-month old and a 21-month old while the mother of the children was at work.
When the mother returned from work, she noticed that the three-month old was pale, limp and unresponsive.
The baby was taken to a hospital where medical staff said that the baby had injuries consistent with being shaken forcefully.
The baby remains in critical condition at the hospital.
Child Protective Services took custody of the 21-month old baby, who was not injured.
Detectives said Brown was alone with the baby when the injury occurred and because of the severity of the injuries, he was arrested and charged with two counts of child abuse, a felony.
He was booked into the Pima County Jail.
