TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - A fire destroyed the personal belongings of a woman who was in the process of moving.
Capt. Barrett Baker with Tucson Fire tells KGUN9 that a 22-year-old woman had all of her possessions outside her home in the 100 block of East Mac Iver Place, while she was moving to a new house.
Crews responded to the home after reports of heavy smoke that could be seen as far away as downtown.
There were heavy flames coming from the side of the house, where the fire was getting into the eaves.
Crews were able to extinguish the fire before it entered the home, but the eaves had heavy damage.
It took nine units and 23 firefighters to bring the fire under control in four minutes.
There were no injuries to firefighters and the woman was not home at the time of the fire.
Red Cross was called to assist the woman who lost most of her possessions.
