TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Crews with Northwest Fire responded to Interstate 10 near Ina Road this morning for reports of a rollover accident.
Cpt. Adam Goldberg tells KGUN9 that when firefighters arrived, they found an SUV had rolled over trapping two occupants.
Additional units were called to assist with the extrication of both victims using the jaws-of-life. Both the driver and the passenger suffered serious, non-life threatening injuries and were transported to the trauma center at the University of Arizona Medical Center's Central Campus.
Eastbound I-10 was shut down for approximately 45 minutes.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety was at the scene to conduct the investigation into the cause of the accident.
Northwest Fire is committed to the safety of the community and would like to remind all drivers to maintain their vehicles in order to prevent accidents. Tires should be checked often for signs of tread wear or under/over inflation which can lead to failure.
