Border Patrol agents take down human smugglers, convicted felon

TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Local Border Patrol agents were kept busy this weekend by human smugglers and a convicted sex offender. 
 
Casa Grande agents arrested two Mexican nationals with gang affiliations for illegally entering the U.S. Friday morning, according to a release from U.S. Customs and Border Protection. 
 
One of the two arrested was affiliated with the 18th Street gang, the other with the Pacoima Street gang. 
 
Later Friday, agents working the I-19 checkpoint arrested two U.S. Citizens for attempting to smuggle two illegal aliens into the country in the trunk of a vehicle. 
 
In another human smuggling incident, Tucson agents patrolling near Three Points, Ariz., arrested the driver and passenger of a white sedan after the agents found two illegal aliens in the trunk of the vehicle Saturday, according to the release.  
 
Finally, Ajo Station agents arrested a 19-year-old Mexican man for illegally entering the U.S. A record check revealed that that the man was convicted of statutory rape in Georgia in 2011.
