TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) – This week Good Morning Tucson is committed to building a better you!   With the holiday season fast approaching we’re tackling America’s eating habits.  9OYS went to the health experts to find out the top 9 things American’s should stop eating right now.

Terry Ogilvie, Sr. Clinical Dietician with the Pima County Health Department, says one reason we often choose the wrong foods, is because we’re choosing convenience over our health.

“People seem so busy,” said Ogilvie.

A couple of the worst things to put in our body, according to Ogilvie, are drinks.

“The first one that comes to mind is soft drinks,” she said, “Loaded with high-fructose corn syrup.”

The other items on Ogilivie’s list:
•    Chips
•    High fat meats (ie: bologna, hot dogs, bacon & sausage)
•    White bread & white rice
•    Highly processed food
•    2% milk (for anyone under 2-year-old)
•    Energy drinks
•    Pasta (choose whole-grain)

The best foods to eat don’t need an ingredient label:
•    Lettuce
•    Apples
•    Tomatoes
•    Broccoli
