TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Homeless veterans are in major need of your help to get back on their feet.
There are hundreds of homeless veterans throughout Tucson.
Sunday groups at the Catalina VFW Post 4903 held a fundraiser to help.
The Southern Arizona VA hospital helps provide housing for our vets. but they can't do it alone. That's where you come in.
Sunday they raised money for bus passes for the vets and collected donations of average household items to help them set up their new homes.
Bruce Spencer of VFW 4903 says the smallest donation can make a huge difference in a vet's life.
"Thats what we collect all the household items for so they can get set up in the apartment and get on their feet. And then the next batch comes in so this is an on going thing. We constantly are collecting items for apartments for the veterans.
Spencer tells 9 On Your Side they take donations year round. If you'd like to help, please e-mail the post, or call 520-881-0184.
