Deputies rescue boy after he was trapped in Gates Pass

TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Deputies responded to Gates Pass to rescue a child after he became trapped while hiking with his grandmother.
Search and Rescue deputies hiked into Gates Pass around 1:00 p.m. Sunday to rescue a 9-year-old boy who became trapped under a boulder in Gates Pass, according to Deputy Tom Peine with the Pima County Sheriff's Department.
KGUN 9 On Your Side went to the scene and learned that the boy was hiking with his grandmother on Golden Gate Mountain when he grabbed a loose boulder. The boulder then fell on the boy's left calf, pinning him down.
The boy was transported to a local area hospital around 3:00 p.m.
