GOLDER RANCH (KGUN9-TV) - Crews discovered a hot mess when they responded to an Oro Valley restaurant for a burglary alarm.
Firefighters from the Golder Ranch and Northwest Fire Districts responded to Carlota's, a Mexican restaurant chain located in the 10,000 block of north La Canada Drive around 3:00 a.m. Saturday, according to William Seeley with Golder Ranch Fire.
Seeley tells KGUN9 that crews originally responded to the restaurant for a burglar alarm, but once on scene, firefighters found smoke and water coming from under the door of the building.
After more crews arrived on scene, firefighters discovered smoke throughout the building with some heat. Crews also found that one or more sprinklers had been set off by a small fire in the kitchen area, according to Seeley.
There were no occupants inside the building at the time of the fire.
The cause of the fire is still be investigated at this time.
