Maricopa Co. puts 2 on early ballots in error

PHOENIX (AP) - Maricopa County elections officials say two school board candidates withdrew from their races and should not have been on early ballots sent to voters last week.
Elections Director Karen Osborne says Deer Valley Unified School District candidate Alexis Christensen and Roosevelt Elementary School District candidate Jose H. Ochoa were included on ballots by mistake.
The Arizona Republic reports Osborne is urging voters not to vote for the candidates because the votes won't count.
Early ballots and the ballots that will be handed out at polling places on Nov. 6 were printed with the errors.
Notices with corrected information will be posted at the county's early-voting sites where voters can drop off ballots. It will also be posted at polling places on Election Day.
