TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - A man is dead after he was assaulted during an early morning party.
James Braun, 35, succumbed to injuries at a local hospital after he was assaulted early Saturday morning, according to Sgt. Chris Widmer with the Tucson Police Department.
Widmer tells KGUN9 that a 9-1-1 call was made at approximately 12:30 a.m. Saturday to report a fight at the Disabled American Veterans Center, which is located in the 3400 block of south Wilmot Road.
Once on scene, officers found Braun suffering from serious injuries. He was transported to a local hospital where he later died.
During the investigation, officers learned that the fight started inside the DAV Center and spilled out into the parking lot.
Widmer says Braun was assaulted by multiple individuals. Police arrested 37-year-old D'Angelo Walker for one count of second degree murder. Henry Gilchrist, 38, was also arrested for one count of hindering prosecution.
The case is still ongoing and detectives believe at least one other person was involved in the assault.
Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call 911 or 88-CRIME.
